Exactly,
Skip shifting does not hurt tranny.
Everything goes through neutral regardless whether skip shifting or not.
Don't post mis-information as if it's the truth especially when the logic behind it isn't thought out at all

wrong wrong wrong, when you depress the clutch, the gears, input and output shafts, and misc parts in the transmission are still spinning at a certain speed, and when you change gears, the transmission's synchro's have to match the input and output speeds accordingly. the more gears you skip, the more strain on the transmission, and the sooner you will wear out the synchro's and you will damage the teeth on the 5th/6th gear countershaft. there is a thread all about this if I need to dig it up in my bookmarks, I can.

still don't believe that skipping gears doesn't hurt the tranny? try this...rev to 9k rpms in 1st and then shift to 6th (without going thru 2,3,4,5,6, just go 1->6th) and have fun when your transmission goes CRUNCH! and you can't shift into fifth for a while because of the damage to the countershaft.

Apparently you have never heard about GM's 6 speed forced skip shifter lock out.
When RPM's are low it forces 2nd,3rd to be locked out forcing you to go to 4th.
This is used on Corvette's right from the factory.
While I skip shift quite regularly only during leisurely driving but would not find any reason to do it during spirited driving , then I always go through all the gears.

Apparently I have not read all other posting's related to this issue.
So now I don't know what to think, but still I am hard pressed to think skipping a gear at low RPM's can be a problem, If it is it's a Honda specific problem I haven't had a problem because I only do it at low RPM's less that 4K.

It is specific to hondas in the sense that the synchros on 5th and 6th tend to be not quite as strong as the rest of the tranny. so if you rev up to say 75mph in 3rd and then go to 6th right away, you will cause excessive wear and maybe even grind 6th gear.

bottom line is, it's been proven, there is factual basis, mechanical basis, as well as people who have damaged their trannys. so why take the risk?

So if you double clutch properly you should never have this problem.
Right?
