Uhh- hand tighten the oil filter ONLY. If you use a wrench and overtighten it, you run the risk of deforming the seal and LOSING ALL YOUR OIL. I have actually seen this happen before. Oil filters should go on about as tight as you can install them by hand, no more.

I have not seen an M1-105 yet that did NOT have the exact same diameter seal and opening as the M1-104. I think the hole pattern is different, but still works fine.

I use rubber-strap wrenches I picked up at Autozone. Cheap and effective regardless of filter size or location.

I totally agree. After the dealeship did work on my car, they overtightened the Honda filter. The genuine Honda filter wrench (shaped metal one) couldn't get it off and actually started stripping the filter itself. I had to use the rubber strap kind of wrench. Much better.
