Default Mobil one selection

Is mobil one's 15w50 supersyn okay to use if road racing and autocrossing regularly?...I am in southern california so the coldest it gets is 50.

I think the only thing you will be doing is decreasing the performance of the engine (less horsepower). Why would you want to do that if you are racing?

use 10w30 unless your car is highly modified.

I tried 15w50 last summer, it was awful and the car felt so sluggish. I changed it out after less than 1000 miles.

I use it in my turbo rotary because of the ungodly fuel dilution...no need with the S

As some of the others have already said, stick with 5W30/10W30. A 50 weight has no benefit and would cause your motor to lug and act sluggish.
