3)adding a better flowing filter in the box (I used K&N)
5)adding a hard pipe from the thortle to the box (cutom carbon/kevlar fabrication) - also coming soon
I love the Spoon CAI, and there has to be a reason why Spoon (a company with decades of r&d) uses the stock air box:

Interesting thought... did you do these seperate from the others, and did you percieve a gain? I have left all that alone as I was looking at it from the standpoint of flow; thinking about it now, I would thinkg that increasing the volume of air in the airbox would improve transient response between shifts. I know just a small change in the volume of air via a larger diameter intake pipe has this result (not on the S2, but on the H22A Prelude).

[B]Comptech supercharger is the best way to go. It'll be the only thing that will be noticeable (performance wise) aside from changing out suspension. CAI and exhaust will only do so much (but make sure you get aftermarket exhaust if you go w/ supercharger) because the car is so fine-tuned (why reinvent the wheel?). Another route is, of course, NOS. Performance can also be enhanced by dropping weight in the car. Just look around and see what suits your needs. Good luck and drive safe!

Comptech SC is the only thing that will offer noticable performance... hello! I was hardly impressed with the Comptech SC. Below VTEC it does NOTHING... what's so great about getting a much more pronounced VTEC for $4,500. The turbo will offer substantial gains down low as well as throughout the powerband. In addition to which an aftermarket exhaust has much less positive affect with a supercharger than it would with a turbo. My guess is that adding an exhaust (assuming cat-back or removal of cat) to a Comptech SC'ed car will yield very little gains. Keep in mind that these are just the opinions of the individuals posting them. Try to ride in an SC'ed car before dropping the money... I'm sure glad I did. I wasn't impressed with the Comptech SC and I haven't been very impressed with Comptech either.

I think you'd be more happy in life if you spent less time trying to argue for the Speedcraft kit. It's a good kit, but it doesn't save lives. I have no problem with the fact that the Comptech kit didn't impress you...but not everyone wants what you do. More objective posts would probably help the S2K community better.
Wes,
Thanks anyway but I'm pretty happy and achieve no gains... financial or otherwise when they sell a kit. I agree that not everyone wants the same thing and because that reason I think it's wrong to say that the Comptech SC is the only way to feel substantial gains. That's a lie. I just want to make sure that whoever is making the decision has options. In addition to which I find it difficult to believe that you picked up 15 RWHP from a cat-back exhaust. I'm by no means implying that you're lying just that maybe you added a header or something else that may have helped those gains. In addition to which... not everyone may drive like you, some might want more usable power which the turbo offers. My point behind the exhaust is that you won't see the same gains by adding an exhaust to an SC that would adding an exhaust to a turbo. By the way... what makes you think I'm not happy???

I don't take anyone's interest in Comptech personally. I do think that most people see Comptech as reputable company that wouldn't put out a product that hasn't been fully tested and I don't think this is the case. Let there be no misunderstanding... I don't like Comptech. I (or Dwight) have spoken to them on two occassions both of those occassions they proved to me that they will answer your question whether or not they know the correct answer (ie. give false information). I'm not here to bash Comptech in any... I don't like the company. I'm not trying to sway others... just trying to let them know that they have options. I think anyone that's considering taking mods to this level (ie. FI, turbo, SC , etc.) should be prepared for the worst. I don't expect things to break when it happens but I certainly don't think it would surprise me in the least. I was at a local car show this weekend listening to a local Honda Salesman tell the people how his Comptech SC'ed S2 was making 365 WHP... I listened to someone else give similar false information at NOPI last year. It seems to me that many of the people that are considering FI are doing so for the same reason I did... lack of power especially down low. The Comptech SC does not address the lack of power down low... sure drive around at 8000 RPM's if you want to but I'd like to be able to hear when I'm old. I would have been EXTREMELY pissed off if I had just bought the Comptech SC initially like I had planned. Fortunately... I had the opportunity to ride in one and that made my decision very clear. If you'll read any of the NOS threads... you'll seem that I don't hesitate to voice myself there either. Has nothing to do with Comptech really... I just see people that are giving their opinion as if it were fact. Some might not know the difference.
