Default Modified S2000 Less Crash-Worthy?

Many S2000 owners (including me) are adding lower chassis X-Braces and strut-tower braces to stiffen the front end and improve handling. Does anyone out there have input on whether these mods would change the crush characteristics in the event of a serious front-end collision? Modern cars (like the S2000) are usually designed with crush-zones that might be negatively impacted by our suspension mods?? Or should I just shut-up and drive??

Don't have an answer, but another question:

is the spare tire (or tyre) an integral part of the rear crash protection in the S2000? I know that in some cars (BMWs?) it is.

Thanks,

Ted

This has been discussed before. You may have luck searching. Conclusion was that it wouldn't make much of a difference, if anything it may help somewhat.

As for the spare tire, I'm not sure.
