More Engine Power
I recently purchased a Comptech air filter for my ride. I've been looking for a mod for $1000 or less that will significantly improve engine performance (i've already put in a Spoon X-Brace and Neuspeed Springs, so i'm okay in the handling department). All of the mods i've seen add very little horsepower for the money (exhausts, etc), and I'm too chicken to do nitrous(that's scary stuff). Any ideas?
go with the nitrous, as long as its installed right and you know what you're doing it will work out fine. Also, for a little more than 1000 dollars, you could get a new header. I got the spoon one and I think it made a noticeable difference.
The S is so finely tuned that it takes thousands of dollars to get additional gains. The SC or new Turbo units give noticeable gains - but start at about $5K. From what I've seen, $1000 worth of exhaust gets a couple HP and lots of rumble. I put RM Racing exhaust on my car first thing. It sounded more powerful and faster, but I don't think I could feel it. The SC I can feel.
if you're overweight shed those pounds. best bang for your buck since you'll actually save money!
If not, then try a driving school. If you're a better driver than the next guy the power doesn't matter too much. 350hp cars can pull away on the straights, but you CAN get up and hit their bumper on the corners and really piss them off
If you're already a Schumacher-level driver then get the apexi V-AFC. dyno proven 15hp gain.
