hey hows it going u guys i own a 2000 s2k and last week in the morning i went to start it and hear a light knocking sound i checked the oil and it was fine, i drove it 2 my frinds, during the drive it woul do that light knocking sound from 1000 pms to 3000rpms and after that i wouldnt do it and then it would start back up between 5 and 6000 rpms need some help???? im thinking its the timing tensioner

 

has anyone ever heard of this kinda of problem??

hey i have the same problem and it sounds like that! What do i need to do to fix it? Should I take it to Honda? Let me know, thanks guys!

 

^^ Not to hijack the OP's thread, but if it sounds like the clip, the Timing Chain Tensioner (aka TCT) needs to be replaced. It is very easy to do and takes about 15min, but does require the right tools. The part costs less than $150 from the dealer.

Get a recommendation for a reputable shop in your area from your regional s2ki forum. The dealer is likely to over charge you for that work.
