Default Motorcycle oil in s2000?

Hi all,
I was going to change the oil again this month. Last time I used Fuchs Titan supersyn 5w-40 because I didn't find 10w-30 oil.
Now the Fuchs agent recommended titan comp4 10w-30 motorcycle oil. He said it's very ideal for the s2000 since it has a high revving engine.

Does this make sense? I think motorcycle oils have different ingredients such as friction modifiers when compared to car oils, so I don't know if it's a good idea...
Has anyone does this before?

Thanks

I dont think that would be a good idea because im sure it has differend ingredients in it. With a motorcycle the oil works both the motor and the trans at the same time.

Not sure I would do it, but you probably could.

Auto oils had more Moly I think than the wet clutches in bikes would tolerate. Which is why there was the stigma in using auto oil in bikes. Don't know of any reason why a bike oil could not be run in a car.

Because the bikes have oil that is shared by the clutch, and gearbox, shear is more of a concern for bike oil.

Mobil1 Mx4T for example meets API SM, SL, SJ, SH, CF, and JASO MA. Mobil1 meets API SM, SL, and CF.

I'd be interested to see an analysis after using a bike oil. Bike engines are smaller, rev higher, and sheer oil more than cars do. Interesting idea.....

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies. I got more and more confused so I emailed both Honda (Japan) and the official Fuchs headquarters in Germany.

Honda called me from the local dealership and said that Honda (Japan) are recommending only Honda synthetic 5W-40 oil now for the S2000.

Fuchs said that although motorcycle oil may be used in a car, it is not recommended since certain additives may not be compatible. They recommended the Supersyn 5W-30 or 5W-40.
So I can keep on using the same oil I am already using (5W-40), and be in Honda guidelines also.

Thanks again
