Default MSD Ignition?

Is there possible to gain HP from this. I was looking in TPR magazine and they checked 5 different sets and showed thee MSD was good for abour 4hp. Is this worth it. I did a search and found that most peoples were using MSD with FI. But I am not FI.

No. For any number of reasons.

I agree with AusS2000. I was looking into this to correct a problem with my car once I had a turbo kit put on. Those things are a bitch to even try to install on the S2000. It would mean bye bye sparkplug cover.

Turned out my problem was bad tuning, not my ignition. I hired the nice people at TorqueFreaks to retune my car and the problem is gone. It was a timing issue.

most cars that use the MSD ignition package either were previously running with a distributor or have cheap inferior ignition coil pack systems....
The Stock S ignition coils are excellent and there are many FI dudes that have been running these with no complaints....

50,000 to 60,000 volts. You can read about it at AEM's web site: http://www.aempower.com/product_ems.asp

fperra, great job and good write-up the install does look easy. How long has this product been on the market? In my experience I wasn't able to find an efficient way to use any of the MSD products.

My "No' was with regards to hp increase in an NA car.

It's certainly possible to do as fperra has shown. And it may even show improvements in an FI system.

But I highly doubt it would change anything in an NA system. And it would cost a load of money and time.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
