What about the filter that come with the comptech supercharged kit? Can I use the K&N cleaning kit too, or do I have to order the cleaning oil through comptech??

Air filter grunge is pretty universal. It takes the same cleaning solution to dissolve it and get it out regardless of what type of re-usable filter it is. So is the oil. One brand of filter oil won't have any magic properties over another brand of filter oil.
Just don't expect to be able to use it to clean a non-reusable filter.

Sounds good, cheers boss. Just wasn't too sure about if it would damage the filter. For a moderate dust (but not pollen) free climate how often should the filter be cleaned.

Annually (~10K to 15K miles), but you can visually see when it needs a clean. Given your description, you might even get away with every couple of years. Sometimes, it's enough to just brush off the big hunks that we all find stuck to the surface.

Okay, looking good, just been reading up about how they actually use oil in the filter to collect the finer dust particles, I guess this is what I want?

Yep. I've used this for both the K&N type and the foam type. For the foam type, when it comes time to oil it, just squirt in on at regular intervals and then "kneed" it till it's uniform, squeeze out the excess by wrapping in newpapers. Not a bad idea to wrap the cotton gauze type in newspapers for a few hours to suck away the excess oil.

Careful there....K&N filter are made out of cotton glaze, which require K&N filter service kit. Comptech filter are made by Uni filter. The filter are made out of foam material, which require special cleaning kit and oil made by Uni for the foam filter. Chemical cleaning agent in the K&N service kit could actually destroy the foam material. I have actually use the K&N oil on my foam filter and it seems not to bond to the foam filter. The Uni oil are tacky and bonds to the foam filter much better than the K&N oil. Remembr it's the oil that traps the fine microscopic dust particles.
