Mugen ECU question
Im not sure if this is correct, but some from another S2K forum told me that the US Stock s2000 EUc will cut off the engine after all tires loose tracktion or something to that extent.
Will the Mugen ECU correct this problem? If so then great, and also what other benifits can I get from the Mugen ECU?
Thanks in advance for the info.

There is no traction control on the S2000. Power should not be cutting out in any type of traction loss. There is however, LSD, which is a different matter.

First off, the guy on the other forum was full of crap. There's absolutely no truth to that at all. the stock ECU will do you favors such as limit RPM's while the motor is cold, prevent you from over-revving the motor (unless you miss a downshift), etc.
I don't have any real good specifics on the Mugen unit. I suggest you contact King Motorsports (they sponsor this board) for more info. They carrry all the Mugen pieces and while I've not dealt with them, I understand them to be very knowledgable and helpful guys.

LSD = limited slip differential. The S2000 has a torsen LSD. you can look it up on www.howstuffworks.com
regarding the ECU... go to the track event, learn how to drive the car in its stock limits. then, if you feel the need to upgrade to the ECU, by all means go for it. it will lean out the car - which is great milage and performance wise. but if you drift the car, it will not shut down. not unless you spin out BADLY and the stock ECU goes into 'crash recovery mode' and will cut the car off, upon restart if you dont remove the key it will only go up to 1500rpms. dont worry about that though, and honestly if you go to the track, drifting the car might be fun, but being smooth will make you faster!
