Default Mugen Hardtop position v boot (trunk) open.

for those using a mugen hardtop, how close does the boot (trunk) open to the hardtop...mine is either just touching or extremely close that if you forgot could cause at least a scratch on the hardtop. I was expecting mugen to have worked that one out.

the FRP hardtop was supplied and fitted all through Honda Japan...they have adjusted it once and this seems the best they can manage..with respect to the overall position and the front catches.

also notice wind noise coming from the back when driving above 100km/hr 60mph..

anybody with similar experience...ideas to correct?

same here, My hardtop just barely touch the trunk when the trunk is open, and no matter how I adjust the hardtop the left side and the right doesn't seem to be equal.

I can say this because everytime I go 160km/hour(100 mph) wind will start go inside the cabin from the left hand side.

left side and right side doesn't seems to be fitted correctly, I had this problem for such a long time, any input please....

My hardtop is made from carbon, awaiting reply

I have the cf Mugen hardtop. Have you tried adjusting the hardtop mounting points yourself? You should be able to be able to 'squash down' the top a fair amount onto the car.

Yeah, one has to be careful when opening the trunk. I put rubber stoppers on the top to hide the scratches and the open trunk edge will rest on these.

thanks...at least I know mine is not a one off problem,

I did not try adjusting mine myself yet,

Honda fitted it first time - unpainted, when I got it painted it would not go back on again, so Honda had to adjust to get it back on. Just wondering how tight those bolts need to be to stop them moving..it's a good idea to try and push it down, I did not see them do that.

it's a shame about having to but stoppers on it

Don't know about the Mugen top, but mine whistles like hell above 130mph. You may have to raise the stops in the doors for the side glass to properly seal to the hardtop.
