Default mugen questions

I am getting a MY02 in about 2 weeks, and im thinking about the mods i plan on doing. Engine wise, i think im just gonna do I/H/E because my dealer will keep warranty with bolt on's. I plan on getting mugen for all three. What would be a good order to get them in? Which mod yields the most hp by itself? Is it possible to hydrolock with the mugen intake? thanks

It is highly unlikely to hydrolock the engine with the mugen cai, basicaly imposible. If i were getting the mods that you describe i would get the exhaust first, then the header and i probably wouldnt ge the intake at all, unless for bling factor.

I would get whatever you can get a deal on first. If you don't mind getting it second hand, there are deals to be had. You'll find a lot of headers for sale, but the exhaust will be harder and the intake is the hardest.
If you have your choice though, I would recommend exhaust, intake, then header.
You won't hydrolock the Mugen intake unless you're trying to (think someone in front of your car with a firehose).

Mugen brings the best compromise between track and street.

They have engineers working in actual labs, which is extremely rare in the developement of aftermarket parts for any car and when they have proven products, then they add looks, excellent quality and craftsmanship to the mix. Plus, the parts are usually designed to work with the actual car without giving poor drivability.

Mugen parts cost more for a reason.

I would rather go with the following order. Reasons below.

1. header (most gains in midrange power)

2 & 3 are a toss up between your needs.

2. exhaust (find a used one if you can, well worth the weight savings and the sound is robust and modest at the same time.
3. intake (for the money, there are cheaper and better options but there's nothing wrong with it if you don't mind the price or cutting the underside of the stock hood. Another reason why it's #3 in my list.

There's a brand new header in the for sale section. GET IT NOW!

There's also an intake for sale but it looks like you may be a bit late. Check it out anyhow.

Two months ago, please were dumping Mugen like crazy, esp. the headers. In socal there are 2 sellers for the headers, KEKOA, and POWERS2000.

Most Power gains:

Toda Headers + amuse Exhaust+ vafc so far. (this setup is actually cheaper than a Mugen setup)

It is possible to Hydrolock the engine even with a stock intake if you "do it right".

Many people complaining about low hp gains with mugen parts.
But with those parts i noticed a great improvement in low/mid rpm range.
If you want top end hp you can see on a dyno a s/c would be better.
But if you look for a overall good powercurve in all rpm ranges you can't go wrong with mugen parts.

Sure its very expensive, maybe it's overpriced, but i am happy with them and this is the most important thing for me.

But what i cant understand, why is everyone looking for top end hp gains?

Just my 2cents.
