I'll be using the aem EMS as well.
When you've gotten your EMS setup and the engine running smooth can I look at your base map? (I'd like to do a comparison)

this hass dropped off the second side of the world........
what has happened to the every day or so updates... all we seem to be getting not it patchy info.

must not be too good for any people who where thinking about buying this kit, because if your wanting to settle reliability issues and make this thread about the whole engine build up from start to end + dyno #'s, then you have kinda failed at keeping the interest up.

Yes i can understand work my be busy, and you may be getting a lot of customers.. but an update take 5 minuts of time. you dont need to post pictures just a general update to keep people interest up etc.....

so what has happened to this engine ?

hope ya'll enjoyed everything.
like he said he will make a new post once its in the car. its kinda pointless to shoot another pic.

[QUOTE=mbilderback,Jun 6 2006, 12:52 PM]Real question is, what will the final torque numbers be?

Assuming:

100% VE
13 CR
14.7psi atmosphere pressure at sea level
2488cc

max torque on the crank = AP x CR x VE x CC / 2471
= 14.7 x 13 x 1.00 x 2488 / 2471
= 192.4 lbf

Even if such engine can keep 100% VE at 8000rpm, it'll produce
294.50hp at the crank. Assuming 40hp loss which may be too optimistic, that's 254.5rwhp.

To get 285 rwhp, that means 325hp or more at the crank. To make such HP with such engine, you need 100% VE at 8828rpm (IOW, a perfectly flat torque curve to 8828rpm which IMO is very hard if not impossible).

EDIT: must be something wrong with my calculations. I can't get the stock numbers with these calculations either. Somebody please correct me while I'm searching links to the equation on the Internet now.
well using stock numbers and your calc its about 40 ftlbs off...so, in that case, you may be able to assume that extra 30hp is quite possible...It would be nice.

Yeah, sounds like the #s are possible. I still can't find what's wrong with my calculations. Oh well. Looking forward to the numbers.

these numbers are close but i can already say are very far off of what this motor "should" do. iI ihada 2.5L and made 250 WHEEL hp and 189ft/lb with 11.5:1 CR and a stock head, headers, cams.
When iyou take into acount all the upgraded parts this set up has compared to mine i don't feel bad sayinig this has potential for over 300hp, the intake manifold will for sure be a major limiting factor of this set up. Also part of me thinks the cams my hurt this set up dependinig how the head work was done, i think the stock 2.2L cams would do better Also for all the calculatioins i have done for drivetrain losses in the S2000 form actual dyno #s of miutiple cars there is typically a 16.7 ~ 17% loss the through the tranny.

on a side note all these wonderful picitures of the build up and none of the key to it all the magical crankshaft

-Matt

p.s heres my old dyno

are you going to at least put a link in this thread to the dyno? Cause I don't want to miss it
