Default my car died...thoughts?

MY02 S2k died the other day. The car was running fine without any CEL, knocking, leaks, etc... After parking it for 30 minutes, I tried to start the car and it wouldn't start. The battery still works as I was able to operate the softtop, windows, lights, and fan. The motor would crank, but no ignition. The radio will not turn on as it requires a code. Was working fine before.

My car was hit in the front with minor exterior damage to the bumper and hood about 2 months ago. The motor had been running well without any problems. As I am hopelessly waiting for a certain bumper from a certain far-eastern country to come in, I have been daily-driving this car with this damage without an incident until now.

Pertinent stufF: Got Mugen suspension (NZ coilovers) which makes for a very punishing ride on some punishing Houston roads. Short block replaced 27000 miles ago after #1 cylinder misfire.

While I'm waiting for an answer from my mechanic, what are the possibilities and most likely diagnosis for my poor patient?

dead/dying battery?

The reason why your radio needs a code is because it lost power. Have you tried jumping the car? SOmetimes it'll crank but not turn over without enough juice.

Just being able to operate the softtop may not indicated a good battery. Cranking the engine takes considerably more power.

If it's not the battery it may be something in the electrical system because somehow you did lose power. Bad wiring? fuses?

I was concerned that the accident + jarring ride from the coilovers could've jarred something loose (fuses, wiring). I could not open the hood as the accident has slightly pushed the bumper over the hood. So jumping the car would not have been a good idea as I would not be able to close the hood even if I could get it to open. Either way, this car needs to go into the shop regardless of whether my aftermarket bumper ever comes in or not.
