Default Is My Car On Fire?

Today it was really hot, maybe 98-100' and I ran the A/C all day. I was exiting onto the highway when I noticed white smoke pouring out of my vents. My heart skipped a beat and I thought my car had to be on fire but then I noticed that it dissipated and went away. I put my hand over the vent and I felt moist air. It went away after about 5 seconds and left the smell of steam in my car. What happened? Should I be concerned?

i think your okay for now...

not to long ago, my a/c went out.. i was at a stop light and my car was idling reaaallly bad. my car shut off and it was very hard to keep it running after i started it back up. i pulled over and noticed smoke coming from everywhere, i thought someone was having a BBQ ( i was happy) then i saw smoke coming out of my car and it ran like crap when i turn the a/c button on. took it to honda and they changed out everything...

so as long as ur car is still running smoothly... your cool!

My Integra used to do that. At first I thought someone was trying to knock me out with some sleeping gas. LOL

I agree. This happens to me down here in steamy S. Florida a few times per year.

I took a commercial flight to New Orleans once, and white "smoke" started pouring out of the vents running along the top of the cabin. Quite a few of the passengers were startled at this. That's what happens when hot, humid air is combined with cold air, the water vapor condenses out.

I have this same problem with my S except it happens a few times a day. Any remedies? It doesn't bother me too much but seeing smoke come out of the vents is a lil weird.

it's moisture trapped in vent coming out liquidified. it's like fog. don't worry. it means your A/C working too well.

Turn the heat up or turn the A/C button off (ie just fan on).
