my car have some problems
hey guys, i have some problems with my car:
My Car is MY 2006, i am the first owner, and had round about 25.000 miles.
My performance mods on the car, lhawker eighter Battery, JS racing 70RS single exhaust, Mugen Style Airbox and testpipe.
last year, on august 2008 i was on the trackday.
after 3 rounds full throttle and hard braking, my car had ignition dropouts @ 7000-9500 rpm.
2 days before, i had this dropouts and i changed the sparkplugs and added again the OEM sparkplugs from NGK. after that the car works normal and good. but on the track after a few rounds the dropouts come again and again. thann i decided to drive a round slower. after a slow round i tried to go again full throttle, but than after 1 round the dropouts begin again.
outside temp. was 25 degree. what could it be? could it be the spark plugs? do they getting to hot? could it be that the battery dont give all the way 14V?
could it be the testpipe? could it be the Mugen style airbox?
i dont know what it is, i want to locate the problem, because this year i want to drive on a few trackdays
i hope everyone understand my problem
thnx

if it is ignition drop outs, which is an electrical problem.... then you have very limited options. Follow the -e
spark plugs
ignition wires
coils
battery
alternator
that is about all your options. i would be quick to cross off plugs (if you had more than one set doing the same thing) and alternator, but would test the other 3.
find out what the specs are on them, and test em up. or replace em one at a time till the problem is solved. The latter is often more expensive, but for those that do not know how to properly test, is often the only viable approach.
good luck
