Default My Car Wont Reverse!

hey guys i need some help... heres the problem; i start the car, it shakes alil bit as if its idling really low. Then when i put it in reverse in attempts to back it out of my garage, it'll back up a tiny bit but it feels very restrictive as if the ebrake is engaged. Then when i put it in neutral, the car jerks forward as if its gonna stall im totally lost here... if you guys can pls help me out with what u think the potential problem could be, id really appreciate it.

i didnt really try to go forward cause theres not much more room in my garage.. as far as getting into gear, it feels pretty much the same and the mileage on the car is only about 23000..

I'm far from being an expert, but i'd push it out of the garage and see what it will do going forward.

Has the car been sitting in the garage for a while? If the car is parked with the emergency brake engaged, especially after the car has been wet, the brake pads can stick to the rotors. The easiest solution for this problem is to back out of the garage with a little more throttle that normal. You will hear a loud bang that might even scare you, but that's the brake pads releasing from the rotor.

I'm not sure if the two problems are related as I don't have an explanation that combines low, erratic idle with the car being stuck.

that happened to me, i got scared and then after the loud cracking noise, the car was able to reverse normally, so i figure that it was just the brakes (after being washed, they turn rusty) being stuck and it was all good.

If the car is moving around when in neutral, that suggests a problem with the transmission. Could it be that the uneven idle is causing the motion?
