Default is my clutch slipping?

I have a ap1 with 80k on it. Recently at hard shifts the rev would hang, and it never done this before.

Once in a while i like to shift a lil hard but its rare that i do it. (im not power shifting or whatever u call it)

when i dont shift hard everything seems fine. accelerates fine through out the gears. but if i punch it through the gears a lil fast it does this.

Watch from 1:00

thanks

Yup. You can test and high gear to see how bad it is. Accelerate normally to 30-40 mph, shift to 4th or 5th and floor it. Watch he tach to see the slip as the rpm rise but the car doesn't go any faster.

Damn, this happens to me when i push the car shifting from 1st to 2nd. I thought this was normal and that the clutch can't grab right away at such high rpms. Is this not normal, and if so, what do you do about it...new clutch? Mine's only got 14K miles on it.

It depends, are you letting go of the clutch pedal fully? If you're dropping the clutch too slowly and you burnt the PP/flywheel already, it could be doing this even when you have a good clutch disk in there.

OP, it does sound like your clutch is slipping for whatever reason but it doesnt sound like insane slippage-yet. I'm more interested in the camera, what are you recording with? The low light image capture is amazing!!

yep its the clutch... I just replaced my with a lil help. Its a pain for you have to remove so much stuff. Might as well put on a new set of headers and a test pipe while you have all that out doing the clutch. GL

Normally on a 1-2 shift its not noticeable. The leverage of gearing helps alot. However, as mentioned step on it in 4th gear from say a 30 mph roll. This will put more strain on the clutch and cause it to slip.
