Default My S is shaking over 60MPH

Hey Guys,
I just got a 01 S2000 with 60K original miles. I love this thing, I wish I got one years ago.

Since I've got the car, it has always shaked. Even when riding down a freshly paved highway, the passenger seat and shifter shake in identical motions. When I'm going over 60 you can start to see the shaking. Once I reach 75 the shaking is very noticeable. The steering wheel experiences no shaking at all which I think is strange. It is basically just the seat and shifter and a little in the pedal.

Since I got the car it has shaked, last week I got a new alignment and new front tires and all 4 wheels balanced. No difference, even after all of this.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Shoot a video of this.

The shifter is going to vibrate.

Make sure the rear wheels are torqued down correctly and are fitted squarely on the hubs.

See if your rear wheel bearings are shot.

#1 cause of a shaking s2k is pitted CV axle buckets.

Does it shake on cruise, worse on accel, and completely go away on decel?

If so it's axle buckets. They can be swapped left to right. Search it ....

The shaking happens almost all of the time regardless of accel or decel. If I am going 40mph down a bumpy road, the shifter will even shake pretty hard along with the road. Just doesn't seem right.

I will post a video tonight. Normally I wouldn't find the shifter shaking to be a problem but when it is bouncing all over and the seat is making the same motions it seems weird.

Thanks so far. I'll post a vid tonight.

Have you had your tires balanced? It could be as simple as that

Sounds like CV bucket swap is in order....or maybe some bad transmission mounts?

PS. The shifter, seat and engine shake all together. Even at idle, the engine vibrates a little and so does the shifter. Motor Mounts?
