Default My s2000 died on me

Hey guys today driving back from a Honda dealer my S2000 died on me. Puff of black smoke and the timing gear's shaft went flying. Right now it's disassembled but the timing is way off. Intake and Exhaust camshafts are way off in TDC. They do not match up either. What would the process for getting my S2000 back to running? (Took the S2000 into a dealer to diagnose why it would stall every time you would put the clutch in, had trouble starting after) MY01 201K miles 73k engine Thanks!!

Based on camwheel bolt coming out, and stalling when pushing clutch (thrust bearing) you will likely need a new engine.

What can I do before having to get a new engine? I would rather try and fix it first. Thanks

the only thing you could do is drop the pan, which will confirm or deny the thrust washer failure, and from there start adding up parts to replace. If it were me i'd just replace it with another used engine. Parts and labor will add up quick, and very few people know what they're doing when rebuilding these engines.

Any idea how the timing gear's shaft cut loose? Is the timing chain ok?

Thanks! Sorry about that engine.
