Someone might want to try the O2 sensor installed with a 10Mohm resistor inline with the sense wire. I've heard this one works, and it should maintain the oscillation the O2 sensor normally produces with the reduced level it needs.

The saga continues... I called Caspers this afternoon, after I confirmed that the MIL is due to the O2 sensor, and they said that they're aware of the problem -- apparently, it happens on decelleration with RSXs as well. The front O2 sensor indicates that the O2 levels have dropped so the ECU gets confused when the rear sensor sends a "no change" signal from the simulator. They're working on a fix, will send me the new hardware at no charge when it's ready (in about 3 weeks), and have made it clear that they're standing by the product. They seem like very good people who take their products seriously. Hopefully, this will get this MIL problem resolved once and for all. Check back or PM me in about a month, and I might have more news to report.

Hi guys. Here's the update, unsatisfying though it might be. The new simulator signal unit arrived earlier this week from Caspers. I'm hoping to find time to hook it up tomorrow when I install my x-brace. Stay tuned. I'll let you know how it goes in another few days or so.

Thanks for keeping us in the know. The anticipation is killing me like diarrhea on a bus trip.

I like the new avatar btw.

Cbender,

Did you ever try removing the backup fuse? I know allot of people give it a bad rap, simply because they think it is going to make the car run bad, but they just don't know. I had my fuse out for a while, and another friend of mine hasn't had his fuse in for months. The only downside that I noticed from it was that the head light beeper doesn't function if you forget to turn your lights off.

...and the idling issues, and the AC memory, and...

I'm glad to hear that it didn't work, or moreover, that we have direct evidence. I was curious if the ECU actually watched for patterns or correlation, now I know it does.

One method that I have confirmation that works on Preludes is to use 10Mohm resistor from the output of the Primary O2 to the input of the secondary, and you can remove the secondary altogether. Might be an alternative if you refuse to pull the fuse and can't get their box to work.

please help

I would like to check the spark plugs on my S2000. I looked around the engine and could not find them. I called the dealer for a recall and they gave me an appointment next week. I would like to check for tourqe.
