Default need help!!!

ok i had a noise coming from my rear that i didn't know what it was. its started out as a high whine from higher speeds then when slowing down and in N it turned into a clicking noise. today i had my car up on stands and while it was in gear i got under it to hear where the noise was coming from. the noise is coming from the right rear trans axel where it connects into the diff. what is that part? thanks

Could it be the Diff itself? Alot of people have reported a clicking noise and it ended up being there diff.

That's the right diff output shaft. The only thing in there that could whine or click would be the tapered bearing that the LSD turns on. Are you sure it's not the inner CV joint on the half shaft?

i'm not exactly sure what it is. i just know where the noise is coming from. i am taking it into honda today and i just wanted some kind of idea on what i should say it is. not just say uh ya a noise down there somewhere. the car isn't driving any different just makeing the noise. its right next to the part that looks like a 5 star if you will. right where the shaft goes into the diff. and its only the right side.
