Default Need Help: 1st -n- 2nd are destroyed

Was driving fairly normally (which is lightly spirited, but not crazy) down the road... left the store... 1st->2nd.. and it sounded like a bag of lugnuts and no acceleration.

From there, 1st has a "tick/grind/bump", 2nd is useless... 3rd->6th are fine.

I don't know what happened..or how. I haven't been driving the car hard, but it is a 2002 with 26k miles (low imho).

Anyway, its out of warranty.. and I'm FAR from mechanically inclined.

I live in Austin, TX.. and have no clue whats wrong, but more so, need it fixed... Any suggestions on where to go? The dealer? And after market shop? What kind of $$ should I expect to pay?

A but clueless here, so any advice, please let me know and/or feel free to email me directly @ acmartin@yahoo.com

Thank-you so much,
Aaron
