Default Need help adjusting hardtop...

Hey guys,

I just installed my hardtop and am getting a ton of wind noise from the front windshield area starting at 30mph. The top seems to bow up slightly between the strikers/latches and this is where the noise is coming from? I've seen references to shimming the latches in other posts but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. Any suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I've done a search on hardtop noise and even downloaded the instructions from the H and A site. They aren't helping.

Best,

Stephen

The service manual shows there are three spacers under each lock handle. It seems that removing these would have then effect of lowering the front edge of the hard top.

Contact Jeff at hardtopguy.com. He sells/installs HT's and can probably give you some very good tips on how to fix this. BTW, he's a really nice guy: I bought my top from him and he did an excellent job fitting it to my car (2002).

Spessx,
Send it over to me. I'll do some testing with it over the Winter and I'll get back to you with my findings in the Spring.

Do you have hardtop strikers? I just replaced mine and now both tops are much tighter.
