comptech has a BOV vented to air intake, may be a Bosch.
other BOV can be substituited, and make whoosh if atmospherically vented, if desired.

I called Comptech the other when I was ordering my aftercooler kit, and the term they used was "bypass valve", the guy also told me that it uses a standard 4-bolt pattern as majority of the popular aftermarket BOV's so it should be a straight swap.

The reason why they didn't use a BOV like Vortech is because of CARB issues. He told me it was illegal to have a BOV in Cali.

That's strange... The Vortech kit has a blow off valve and is CARB legal as well. The R&D for Vortech was also done in California so it's designed to run on 91 octane.

Ok well what are your opinions now, comptech or vortech? I will want the aftercooler if I get the comptech. But I still dont see where the "by pass valve" is on that particular aftercooler.

I don't think the comptech has a bypass valve nor have I seen anything that remotely resembles one. I could be mistaken though.

That's a tough decision. I'm not really sure now, the a/f ratios look good on nobody's car. I've also heard that some people were experiencing lean conditions with the Vortech kit. However, this could be attributed to the use of a vafc. The vortech does have a timing box though which is pretty spiffy if you ask me.

But for looks comptech's kit looks a lot nicer IMO.

yeah the comptech is pimpin i love the look of the carbon fiber box

if i go vortech im going to try to fit the comptech air box cuz i hate the vortech one

your saying people playing with their vtec is causing their car to go lean?

i guess i might have to wait and get some more money to run the aem ems or haltech....things seem to be going down hill

Who is hating on you? Nitwit, you ASKED if either blowers came with an FMIC. If you knew an FMIC from a valve cover, you would realize that they DONT come with one. And an air to air fmic would probably result in a GREATER loss in efficiency, as you would loose boost due to the pressure drop across the range.

Sorry, but you just asked a question which has been answered four hundred times already. You havent done your two bits, why should others chime in?

FYI, before I posted on here with questions about the blower, I talked to a friend with a comptech SC, I read just about every thread with "supercharger" mentioned in it, and I called up both vortech and comptech and talked to reps for over a half hour about the merits and drawbacks of their kits.

Open your eyes and look around. These threads get annoying. Especially in a forum thats supposed to be reserved for more technical discussion.

My 2 cents.

I know what a front mount intercooler looks like. And I dont know what a valve cover looks like too.

What I should have said, is anyone beside ahhhvtec using them with a fmic. I thought comptech was making an fmic, yeah sorry my mistake, I only found out recently it was an air to water aftercooler.

Why the name calling?

I see.

Sorry.

I wasnt sneering at you or anything in the first post, I just thought that you would get a lot more info, quicker, by perusing the threads.
