Default Need help with a faint rear sound

So, I'm not exactly sure where this sound might be coming from. Definitely sounds like the rear right corner, but I may be wrong. It's an oscillating sound, but is very faint. I have to turn the radio off and put the windows up to hear it. For the past 6 months, I had a horrible wobble sound from the rear right corner, and that sound went away completely after having my bearing and hub replaced. I have also been through a couple sets of tires since then. Right now, I'm on a brand new set of RE11s. Funny thing is, I only hear this sound on newer black top pavement. On concrete roads, I cannot hear a thing from the same exact spot. When I had the last set of tires on, it was almost the exact same story. So I'm not sure if it's a pavement thing or not. If it was a mechanical issue, I'm sure I'd hear it on any type of road surface. Sometimes it sounds like a slightly cupped tire.

I'm also not sure if this might be a normal sound from running an aggressive alignment, aftermarket coil overs, and sticky tires. I went the last 7 months with that horrible loose wheel bearing sound, and once it was fixed and silent, I guess I started paying attention to other sounds.

Could this sound possibly be coming from one of the axles? Maybe the extremely worn bearing fatigued the axle or brake components? Again, I would probably hear it on all road surfaces though.

As the car sits right now:

49k miles
KW V3 coilovers, lowered to about a finger gap all around
17x7.5 +43 front & 17x9.5 +47 rear
New 225/255 RE11s

Pressures good, lug nuts torqued, etc. etc.

Thanks for any possible help guys!

agreed...my car makes very different noises depending on what kind of material the road is made out of that im driving on and the condition of the road...you also have to keep in mind that its a very noisy car to begin with...i hear new noises quite frequently that go away so i just chalk it up having a tight as hell suspension and it being a convertible...as long as i dont hear the obvious sounds of a diff, bearing, or knock, i tend to ignore it

Def sounds like a wheel bearing. Give it some time and it'll start to whine. $80 part, not to hard to do.

But that's just it, the right rear wheel bearing and hub was just replaced. And once it was done, the loud wobbling sound vanished. This seems to be a different type of sound and is much quieter. Plus, wouldn't a bad bearing make the sound on all different pavements?

All wheels spin freely with no strange sounds. Car has no vibrations and rides true and smooth. Not sure where to look. Maybe I just gotta give the new tires some time to break in.

a bearing sound is unmistakeable...and if you said you had a bad one already replaced and the noise went away, id look elsewhere for the noise...did whoever replace the right wheel bearing inspect the left one at the same time? it may be time to do the other one and it may just starting to be on its way out hence the reason its a different noise...but like i said, bearing noise is a pretty distinct wobbling sound

The left side and fronts are definitely fine. I think my problem is, that when I had the bearing replaced, I was expecting the car to be COMPLETELY silent(road noise), and I just can't remember what the car sounded like before the bearing went bad last year.

I just got back from a drive, and it seems once I get some heat into the tires, the noise somewhat changes. Doesn't get louder or quieter, just turns into more of a solid white noise. I'm guessing it may just be the RE11s, different sounds from cold to hot. Plus, I'm running a somewhat aggressive alignment, and also haven't had it checked since last year. So it may be a good idea for me to get it checked. I may even play with the settings on my KWs to see if the road noise changes. Which I'm sure it would considering they're set pretty stiff right now(for compression and rebound).

holy shit, i just noticed you live in virginia beach too lol...well im a technician at sears on lynnhaven...if you keep having an issue with it you are more than welcome to bring it by and id take a look at it...but honestly, its more than likely road noise, especially how shitty all the roads are in 757
