Need help with headlight.
Hey all I was wondering if anyone knew of a temporary fix for a headlight. My xenon light went out a little while ago and it flickered once in a while when I tried to turn it on I checked the fuse and saw it was blown so i replaced it and it blew again. The headlight also didn't turn on. I'm trying to just have a temporary fix for a few days while i'm moving down to miami where i'll have it actually fixed. The main problem I have is that I can't find any place that can get a new bulb in time as they'd have to order it. Does anyone know of a headlight that I can replace into the xenon bulb spot just so i won't get pulled over. I still have my daytime lights running but my high beams don't work.
Xenon headlights don't exactly have a bulb that can burn out - they're an arc-light. Given the electrical issues you describe, I'm guessing your ballast (it produces a 20,000volt jolt to get the light started) is having issues. If that's really what's going on, your only choice is to get it to a dealership and have it replaced under warranty.
A new xenon bulb is about $135, the ballast unit is about $266.

The S2k's low beams are HID's. Th eHigh beam bulbs are standard halogen bulbs.
If you want to determine if the ballast or bulb is the problem, swap the bulbs side to side. If the problem moves with the bulb, it's the bulb. If the doesn't change, it's the ballast.
