Default Need Help with intake

I just purchased the J's racing intake from a fellow member, and i know that i have to cut into my stock hood for the air duct to fit, so i did a search to find a DIY w/pics on it and could'nt find anything, so maybe someone can please help me with this?

also i didnt want to make another thread to ask another question, but i need to remove my stock thermoswitch and i have no clue where it maybe located(under the Vtec solenoid?) and is there anything i should need to know when changing this out?

thanks

J's intake has two version, OEM and V Style. The V Style (less restrictive version) will require a hood that has space for this intake or you can cut the hood.

OEM has a restictive part where the rad support and hood meet but it's like that so it will work alla oem

I'm not 100% sure if cutting the hood will work, but measure it out or someone with a type V can chime in

I bought a used J's intake last year. Didn't have a template. Just have to set aside some time, install the intake and eye ball, cut and fit. Rinse and repeat until the hood closes and there is no rubbing.

Get a good cutting wheel, and use some sort of clay or playdoh on top of the intake to see where there is interference. The install is fussy and there is a lot of play when you fit it together, so there might be some modifications required to the scoop length and or the inside grill of the front bumper intake.
