Tsuchinoko Intake System Exact measurements....
anyone have an idea of the exact measurments of when u cut an oem hood for the J's intake... Any reialbility issues when cutting the hood.... thanks guys
I did the cutting on my hood step by step, little cutting-little checking and on...
I also didn't have the measurements but it's not difficult.
No issues for the hood (rust etc.) since it's made of aluminium.

wouldu you happen to have a pic of the outcome.. who it looks... maybe border the edges or something... I wanna cut it one shot and not have to measure.. then remeasure... how long did it take you?
It took me about 1 hr
Here you can find pics + a lot more about J's stuff

You can use the same templete as what Mugen uses for their intakes. I have this exact cutout along with the J's intake.

In additions to getting the measurements right, also insure that you have the intake properly aligned. I found out about this the hard way when I got J's radiator plate a year after I got the intake and cut the hood. It turned out that the intake trunk piece did not align with the radiator plate so I had either to:
1. Refit the intake pieces again to fit the radiator plate and recut the hood.
2. Leave the original cut in the hood and not install the radiator plate.
