Do you have cracks in your stock heat sheild? The spare one I have does, and it is on both on them.

I can't say that I inspected them too closely but I don't recall seeing any obvious cracks.

I have this sound I believe. I think its down to an old HKS I have fitted, as I believe that PWE896 (who I bought it off) had it as well when he had the exhaust on his vehicle.

It occurs at 6-6.2k on mine. Over, its gone, under its gone. Its resonance of some sort but can be driven around quite easily.

I`m sure if the stock exhaust was replaced it`d go. I think its baffles in the rear. It sounds akin to an M3 revving hard.

Very, very mettalic vibration.

Sounds like the ringing shifter to me. I have had that problem since day one. No biggie.

Well honda has decided all the problems are coming from the tranny. I got both tranny TSB's. The clutch rattle + the one, two gear grind. They also think the ringing is coming from the shifter. But now there telling me, because the car i lowered that it could have affected the geometry of the transmission and that could be the cause of the problems. The car has only been lowered for less than weak. They want me to authorize the tranny teardown and than have a rep come out and determine if its honda fault or mine. This is redicilious! (SP) I dont know what to do right now. If honda says its my fault then i got to come up with over $1500 to get this done. Is there anyway to fight this? What can i do? Im thinking of just buying another tranny from someone and rebuilding it and putting it in later when my clutch goes out. Does this seem like a viable option?

Lowering causing the noise? There's a new one.

I'd suggest trying the fix for a 'ringing shifter' yourself. It's simple enough to do, and doesn't take too long. If it doesn't work, you've only lost a little time. If it does work, you've saved a big bill.

There's a quick description in this thread, from SilverSurfer. The 'ringing shifter' was only part of my problems - I had heat shield problems as well (lucky I guess ).
