My check engine light is coming on at 9,000 RPMs. The code is saying that there is a lack of oil pressure. Anybody have this problem? If so, how did you fix it? Thanks for the help.

 

Have you checked the obvious? Check the oil level? Changed your oil and filter according to schedule? If your level is OK, then it could be a bad pressure sensor or a bad oil pump.

 

Another guy (I think David_B) had a problem with his oil that prevented him from going into VTEC altogether. You could be having a less severe case of the same thing. He had some goopy stuff in his oil when he changed it. I think the dealer probably did a flush and fill to fix it.

 

i am having the same problem as we speak. I have a couple of threads that deal with my problems......

my car will not vtec...and check engine light comes on...at first they thought it was a clogged oil screen, but they fixed that and it still will not vtec and CEL comes on... This is a lot of instances lately on this board that people are having engine problems..

Hope your car doesn't start ticking like mine....since i took it in to the dealer last week...it has started a loud ticking noise....it is back at the dealer and it will be addressed...

a friend of mine has just got an s2000..............

the oil pressure light is coming on occasionally and the engine is emitting a starnge rattling noise.........


any ideas guys?

 

LOW OIL?

 

tell your friend to make sure he/she checks the oil pressure like everyother day. the s2k during breakin uses lots of oil and it will take no time to lose all oil or dangerously low.

 

I cannot beleive it guys..........................!!!!!

my friend called me and he said another friend of his checked the oil for him.......................can you beleive how ignorant people are??!!! .................there was virtually no oil....................

The few droplets that there were were very yellowish in colour............................i think its connected with the rattling noise....................the big ends !!!!!

I'm so angry at the previous and the new owner..................is it so difficult to regularly check the oil ??

I own a 1998 EK4 civic 1.6 VTI.........and really baby it and everything.......my dream car is a an S2000.........and this guy does this !!!!
