Default Need new clutch!?

Well i guess since my MY01 S2K's clutch is slippin like a motha it's time to invest in a new setup. At first it was slipping in/past VTEC (~7k) in WOT, now it's starting to at half throttle. I have the 100k mi extended warranty (i'm @ 60k now) and i kno about the manufacturer's recall about the tranny buzz so i'm thinkin maybe I can try to pull one of those cards...if not i guess i'll try a DIY. but anyway any ideas/recommendations for a replacement (ie ACT)?

PS mods: AEM V2 intake, header, bored out cat, HKS cat-back, and bored out tb.

IMO the clutch is a wear item.
Are you sure it is included in the warranty?

Btw.. it is "clutch-buzz" not tranny buzz.

And if you would take a mechanic out for a drive to let him listen to the clutch buzzing I think he will notice the clutch slipping too.

2 different things.

But if they replace your worn clutch under warranty for you.

with those mods to your car you will be lucky if they replace anything.

I went with the ACT heavy duty clutch kit a couple years ago. But now I have to replace the disc as I have revved up the car too many times and it sounds like a spring might have broken loose. I don't have an upgraded disc, but am just using the factory unit which might be why I'm having this problem to begin with.

If you're doing it yourself, best of luck to you as it takes at least 4 hours just to pull the tranny out, which includes disconnecting one of the engine mounts just to get clearance to reach the upper 2 bolts.

Its a tough job and I don't want to go through that again so its off to the shop for this job.

My .02.

well i'm hoping that the honda dealership i go to will follow the precedent of my brother's subaru dealership and do warranty work (his car is stage 2)...basically they'll do warranty work for a modded car if they like you and you're not a prick. if not i'll just try to get them to replace the clutch disc (tsb).

thats why the honda tsb lists it as transmission buzz.
