Why do you think you need to change the spark plugs?

OEM plugs do not need to be replaced for regular maintenance until 100k miles.

OEM, there's a service bulletin for using different plugs/crush washers so plugs don't back out. How do I know?

The crush washer is integrated onto the base of the spark plug.

so it is a part of the spark plug?

like when you buy it and take it out of the box, it is already there, and all you do is put it in...or is it a separate piece?

"Integrated" means that it is part of the plug.

When you look at a spark plug there is a metal washer that is captured where the threads meet the body of the plug. That is the crush washer. When you first install the plug it crushes when the correct torque is applied, ensuring a correct seal with the head. On later installations, after an inspection for example, it will still seal properly as long as the plug is correctly torqued. In the S2000, 18 lb-ft is the value that is recommended.

Yup, those are the OEM plugs. I'm having a new set installed today along with my valve adjustment even though my car is only at 38k. I decided its a decent idea considering the car is 5 years old now.
