Default Need spark plug socket...what size?

Like the thread title says, I need to do some maintenance on my car, and need to buy a good spark plug socket. Does anyone recall what size it is?

One of these should do the trick right?

5/8" or 16 mm - 5/8 if you want to be exact, its like 15.86mm or something. And you don't need a swivel socket - you go straight down into the engine, so you will need a 8" extension.

and also make sure the socket has a rubber donut in it so that it grabs the spark plug when pulling it up.

5/8 is a standardized size for most spark plugs.

^^ That problem is a pita. Can anyone recommend a decent 8-10" spark plug socket? I'm sure Snap on sells one but I don't think I'd want to pay their prices

Or do locking extensions like these work?

^I use spark plug socket to remove the spark plug, and a 15(?) or 16mm wrench to install it. the rubber does something to catch the plug as you torque it and the socket gets stuck inside unless you have a locking extension.

I have a spark plug socket (5/8" aka 16mm) that has a small hole all the way through on one side of the drive square. I also have a 3/8" impact extension with a pin retainer, rather than a ball retainer. Guaranteed to pull the socket off the spark plug every time; then just use a small pin punch through the hole to remove the socket from the extension.
