New Door Key Tumbler?
Howdy,
I'm in the process of restoring my 2003 s2k, and I need some input on what path to take with correcting a mismatched tumbler. My ignition, passenger door, and trunk all match, but not my drivers door. What would be the best option? Am I able to buy a single key barrel and have the pins cut to my key?
Thanks

I had to go out and check my S2000 as I didn't recall there was a key in the passenger door -- neither of my other cars have one, just the drivers door. A locksmith is your best person to check with. It may be possible to fix what you have or rekey a new cylinder before fitting it to the car. I'm sure a Honda dealer could do it at exorbitant expense. Heck, they probably call a locksmith.
The right door is a simple cylinder $35 with a pair of keys. The $104 left door cylinder has some switches in it that can control the right door lock and alarm. I'd think the actual lock cylinder, the locky part where the key inserts, is the same. Maybe you can just swap the cylinders in the car now.
Let us know how you fix it.
