New owner - Fob query
Folks, my other half has just bought a lovely monte carlo blue 2003 GT S2000.
However, we only have 1 fob. The fob is a 2 button item and I believe there is a procedure to programme new fobs. We have the Honda CAT1 Thatcham T2 Category 1 Alar/immobiliser system instruction booklet and I can try to follow the steps there.
(However the pic of the fob in the booklet looks a bit different from the one we have, but I think it is applicable to our one)
My question is, can I simply buy a secondhand fob from eBay for about 40 stg and programme it or do I need to get a new blank one from Honda? Is there anything else I need to look out for?

Yes you can simply buy a replacement from eBay, I had to do that when my original one started to wear out.
Programming is easy...
Disarm the system and immediately turn the ignition ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON and within 10 seconds press the raised button of the EXISTING handset 3 times.
The system will respond by illuminating the indicators and illuminating the system LED (on the console), it's now in key learn mode.
Press the raised button on the NEW handset once, the LED will go out.
Press the raised button on the NEW handset again, the indicators will go out, at this point the system learning mode ends and the new handset is ready to be used.
You can have up to 5 handsets for each car and the learning mode is the same for all of them.
This doesn't delete the one you already have.
Good luck and enjoy the car

The fob unlocks/locks the doors, but not the boot as described in the manual (the other fob does that), and sets/unsets the alarm. the dimple button opens and disarms, the other locks and rearms.
To open the boot, open the car with the remote and either use the internal boot release or use the key.
The car will rearm and lock its-self approx 30 seconds (I think) after the doors have been unlocked but not opened.
