Default New S2000 - couple of issues!

Hi, I am new to this forum and it is my first post and hopefully in the right place!

I have just bought my first S2000, a 2000 plate UK model. Its a great car and I have wanted one for a long time, but already I am getting some anoying teething problems!!!

So I am here for some advise please!

Problem 1 ABS light:

The other evening I was driving home along the dual carriage way, decided to put my foot down. As I accelerated hard the ABS light came on and stayed on the for rest of the journey.

Light went off the following day after a couple of miles.

Pads are healthy, fluid is topped up.... any ideas as i am concerned it may happen again when I least want it to?

Problem 2 juddering/bunny hopping when pulling away in traffic:

This morning I stopped in some traffic and when pulling away the car started to bunny hop as if starved of fuel?

Plugs were changed on last service 9k ago. no other symptons and is smooth once moving. OBD reader shows no codes?

Any ideas?

Any advise you can give would be very much appreciated!

Car detaisl are as follows:

2000 W plate
UK model
Full Honda history
now on 73k
bought from a sensilbe looking owner so I think it has been treated well (as far as I can tell!).

Cheers!

Problem 1 is more than likely a loose/failing ABS sensor - good luck trying to find the errarnt one.

Problem 2 is the map sensor as noted above

also for the second problem, check the throttle cable at the throttle body, there may be too much slack.

Problem #1: clean your ABS sensor tips. They're permanent magnets and pick up crap and debris. Take a wheel off one at a time, unbolt the sensor (10mm socket and only 7 ft*lbs of torque, IIRC... be gentle putting it back in) and with a microfiber towel and some alcohol clean the crap off the tips.

Hi All, thanks for the great tips. Have just been reading up on the MAP sensor whack! Makes sense so I will have a go this weekend.

One question, does the car have ABS sensors all round or only on the front on the S2K?

This is a great forum, I have also been reading up about the hood strikers which expains the wind noise at high speed. Off to the stealership at lunch to pick up a new set!

Thanks again!
