I have seen YouTube videos where people restore vintage electronic devices and they have used a contact cleaner spray when a volume knob wasn't working properly, etc. Once they sprayed it on the contacts, it corrected the problem and the knob worked as designed. Do you think using a similar contact cleaning spray for the insides of the turn signal stalk might do the trick before buying an actual new stalk?

you can check the stalk by testing the wires instead of taking it apart...

Appearing more and more like the light stalk is the issue.

Service Manual, (all years.)

2008 Wiring Manual (but this isn't completely applicable to cars earlier than 2006 which lack DRLs).

*** UPDATE ***

I removed the steering wheel column surround and cannot figure out how to remove the actual turn signal stalk. I can't find any videos about it either. Can you direct me to instructions on how to do it?
