Default No Clutch Resistance

Hey Guys, I hope this is just an issue of needing to replace the tranny fluid. My clutch has no resistance and the pedal goes straight to the floor. The car will not get into gear either. This just happened yesterday while the car was parked.

Anyone have this happen to them? Any input is appreciated, thanks!

No, Most likely its a clutch master cyl problem. check the clutch pedal, look at the piston thats connected to it - is it wet? IF it is, youre leaking clutch fluid (not trans fluid...that only lubes the tranny). Noticed lots of people with this breaking.

Just did, and got some nice moisture of black liquid so there has to be a leak. I assume the clutch fluid resorvoir is in the very top right portion of the engine bay? Grrrr.....

yep. its a really small cap near the firewall. Fill it up, bleed it, and it'll work for a bit but youre going to have to change out the master cylinder.

ok i realize that he figured out that it was his master but dont forget about the infamous slave clutch cylinder either! it has a tendency of just going out and blowing fluid everywhere! if in the future or anyone else who reads this post has this problem but doesnt have a master cylinder problem look on the front side of the trans and see if there is a whole lotta wetness under that area. if there is and the pedal is stuck to the floor your valve for the slave gave out. to the op glad you were able to figure it out.

It sounds like you need a new master cylinder.. That happened to me when i first purchased my car... i took it back to the dealership and they flushed out my tranny fluid + replaced the master cylinder.. now it drives fine. =D

Not yet, I am going to work on it this week (thankfully I've got a 2nd car). Most likely, I will need a new clutch master cylinder.
