Default No Heat When At A Stop...

Hello S2KI

I recently picked up a 2004 BB and noticed an issue with the heater. When the car is at idle, heat on max and at a stop the vents only blow cold / warmish air. When driving the vents are blowing nice and hot. Has anyone had this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the coolant level and/or bleed the system

And SOON! You have a ticking time bomb. Car has air in the system, low coolant. It can overheat on you if driven hard, for very long. That could spell disaster for the motor.

You'll know you have it bled when you get finger burning heat out of the vents at idle. Until then, there is still air in there...

Now when you say finger burning heat, it burns when you leave your hand for a few seconds or it's painful to even put your hand in the way?

As hot at idle as it is while driving. Which should be hotter than most cars (oversized hvac to compensate some for top down use).
