no pressure in clutch pedal
My clutch in the car started slipping a month ago. I drove it around until my clutch arrived for two weeks and I noticed that my pedal had a noticeable difference in firmness. I ended up putting in a new clutch and flywheel thinking that maybe my clutch being burnt up had something to do with it and noticed that my car would drive with less lift on the pedal. After putting my clutch in the pedal got softer. I ended up having a buddy pump the clutch pedal and me opening the valve on the slave cylinder after replacing the fluid which was black. I did that until I used the entire bottle the clutch pedal got alittle stiffer but it did not fix the issue. I have read that sometimes when you are breaking in a new clutch that the pedal is softer is this normally the case or do you think that my slave cylinder caused my old clutch to go bad. The clutch is a competition stage 2 with a lightened steel flywheel.
In my experience the clutch has been heavier then stock when upgrading. Crawl under your dash and look at where the clutch pedal meets the clutch master cylinder. If its leaking fluid this could be part of your issue. As well as if you didnt bleed the system correctly
Its not abnormal for a brand new clutch to feel soft. New grease, fresh pressure plate springs, etc.
You may also need an adjustment on your master cylinder freeplay if the comp clutch disk is thinner than stock or if the pressure plate "throw" is less than stock.
Or it isn't bled all the way out.
