No reverse lock-out ONLY when trans is warm
Hi Guys....
I performed the shifter TSB DIY a few months and couple 100 miles ago, as I had lost my reverse lock out. Used all new parts, plastic bushing etc, everything recommended in the the FAQ. Was beyond pleased with the results, a smoother shifter and more importantly I had regained my reverse lockout. Now, a few months later, I find the car to be fine until the transmission warms up after a half hour of driving. I will lose my reverse lock-out. The next cold drive I will have my reverse lock-out. A half hour later I lose my reverse lock out. Found some threads from many years ago about this happening with no real fix. I thoroughly cleaned and installed everything right. Did my transmission oil last year. Barely drive the car. Guess I will just redo the TSB. Is there any updated knowledge on this? I'm amazed heat can cause a simple spring function not to work. Think I need to re-order parts again?
Thank you for your knowledge,
Greg

In any event I am thinking this is not a shifter issue but rather clutch line or transmission
Thanks for your reply, but I am able to engage reverse using the reverse lock out when the car is cold. After 30mins of driving, I can still engage reverse just fine, I just don't need to use the reverse lock out. It's like the spring that props up the shifter disappears when the transmission is warm...
Thank you.
Thank you.
