No Spark ...
Swapped in a new engine in my AP1. Car has no spark with Crank sensor plugged in but will spark if I unplug the sensor. I tried my crank sensor off my old engine and that didn't change anything. Only other thing I can think of is the ECM. Car ran just a couple months ago, find it hard thing believe the ECM randomly failed. How common do the ECM fail, anyone else got no spark from a faulty ECM?
I never checked the cam timing. Engine only has 30k miles. I assumed it was correct. That is something I can cross off, does anyone know what resistance the Crankshaft sensor is supposed to have?
Yes, motor came out of a wrecked s2000 complete. I figured the timing was correct but I guess stranger things have happened. I've double and triple checked everything else. The fact it will spark if I unplug the crank sensor has to mean something just not sure what. No trouble codes, unless I unplug the crank sensor then it throws that code. I'll check the cam timing tonight.
It means the motor is out of time. In this condition, it will only run with the CKP sensor disconnected.
Pop the cover and have a look. Possibly someone did some tct work and disturbed the crank with it removed.
