Default No VTEC!

Ok so here the problem . . . just put my new motor in. everything is running perfect. That night I jump on the highway to do a bit of a higher speed test and I get on the gas and the car is good up to about 5000- 5500 Rpms. I can keep on it until about 7000RPms but it just takes forever to get up there. Why is my VTEC not kicking in? OIL level is good, all sensor and connectors are good, installed a new VTEC solenoid gasket with screen. and it still wont work. Please help

LOL; this thread is funny. ya man, why not break it in alittle first? check the solenoid, is it even on there (i think it's a matter of two bolts)

does the throttle cut when you rev past 7g? i wonder if it it's something electronic...

If you didnt let the car warm up it would have cut right at 7k and not go into vtec. Or maybe you just need to break in the motor first.

break in the car first dude.
So you guys expect him to drive around for a month before he even figures out if it's working right? I think I can safely ignore any advice you might have in the future.

OP: I'm not a mechanic, but 7k is about where the low temp cutoff is. What does your temp gauge say? I doubt you'd be able to get to the freeway without the engine warming up unless you lived on an on-ramp, but it may not be indicating correctly.
