Hey guys...

I know that summer is long gone and that is very apparent up here in the the good ol Pacific Northwest, but I had a quick A/C question. I was driving home from the gym the other night and decided to turn on the A/C w/ the recirculation button on. When I did, noticed a weird noise coming from the vents as I started accelerating slowly in first gear from about 1.5-2.5 rpm.(ie. accelerating from a stop light, pulling into my garage). It sounds like a brash whistling inside the vents and got louder with more revs. It did this a couple times a while back but now it does it almost every time I turn on the A/C. Any idea of what it could be?
and it also does it in reverse too. It's basically any time the car is moving from a stop.

my MY07 does this as well, it makes all sorts or swirling and blowing sounds, kinda like there is a heavy wind storm inside the dash haha, im curious what this is caused from as well

 

Mine too. Dealer said it was normal.....

alot of cars are like that.. just turn up the volume or get used to it heh..

 

My 07 also does that, I was confused about it at first. It happened in my garage, and I thought "Why is the wind moving this fast in here?" Haha.

 

You are hearing the refrigerant going through the expansion valve. It's normal and louder on a S2k than any other Honda.

 

I know this thread is 8 yrs ago but man I've been having the same noise and not sure what to do to fix it but I guess this is normal for our S . That weird noise like wind storm in dashboard ..... It is very annoying .
