Talking Noise upon start up

Good afternoon and thank you for reading

i have an issue that im worried about. Theres a noise upon start up. It sounds like when you have the car on and engaging the starter when its running. This only happens when the motor is cold. When the motor is warm it wont do it. Vehicle runs and drives normal with no abnormal noises. I recently replaced the tct with a inline pro thinking that would fix the issue due to the fact this is a common problem. Would appreciate feedback.

Thanks

It's just the starter showing it's age (the gear is staying engaged a fraction of a second too long). Mine does the same thing. If it's only doing it on occasional cold starts, I wouldn't worry about it. If it really bothers you, replace the starter.

I had a similar noise / panic and created a thread. It does make a nasty sound but is apparently harmless.

Ok, its that season again...

Every year when weather starts getting cold, there are several threads like this one.

All S2000's do this in the cold. Its worse when starter is going bad. If it only happens when its cold, don't worry about it. Its not hurting anything, other than your feelings when others are around to hear it.

Cold time of the year = low amps/battery=starter does not throw out as quick, fine when charged and used often

Still waiting for a fix. I'm not against rebuilding the starter with upgraded parts if someone would post a DIY with a permanent solution!
