Noisy AC fan/blower

Take the blower motor out and check for debris inside the motor's fan cage.

If it squeals I'm betting it's a bad bearing on the motor; I think something stuck in the fan would make more of a scratching, rubbing noise.

Being only 2 years doesn't sound good, especially now that we have 2 '06 cars with the problem. I wonder if a different fan is used on the 06 and up cars and the oldest of the bunch are just now having problems. I had 213k on my '00 when I sold it and the fan motor just started making tiny squeak noises, and only at certain fan speeds. It was mild enough that you couldn't hear it once you were moving.

They will make all sorts of noises when a mouse decides to build a home in the blower. I've pulled dog food, insulation, pine straw you name it out of blower motors.

the last 4 digits of my VIN is 4566 for reference.


I have vacation time next week and will be bringing it in to the dealer to see whats up.

I've been hearing that irritating sound recently too. It doesn't matter if the A/C is on or not. I'll hear it while the car is accelerating. I bet there's a leaf or dirt in there...
