o2 heater circuit malfunction
ok so,
my 2001 is throwing 2 codes stating that both of my o2 sensors have malfunctioning heater circuits. i only have the upstream sensor installed and the resistance across the heater wires is 16 ohms, i'm getting 12 volts on the black/yellow wire when the sensor is unplugged and 12v to both the black/yellow and black/white when plugged. supposedly this means it isn't grounding via the ecu. my question is, instead of replacing the ecu, can i simply ground the sensor on the body and allow the heating element to run at all times? how will this affect the life of the sensor and the efficiency?
