Default o2 sensor ?

So I tried searching for my answer here and google but couldn't find what I was looking for.

My qustion, is it bad to touch the o2 sensor with your bare hand. I don't know if I messed mine up by trying to rub off a mark that was on my o2 sensor.

There are 2 factors.

1. I rubbed the sensor to try and get a mark off.
2. I just installed a header back system (I was running a test pipe with another exhaust) with a different anti fouler (same setup but with steel wool in between the two plugs). Would of used mine but I spot welded it onto my test pipe.

I guess process of elimination is in order

1. A new fouler; like my old set up (NEVER threw a code).
2. Try and new sensor (expensive to find out mine is still good)

Thanks in advanced.

I doubt that touching the sensor would really mess anything up. As long as you aren't clogging up the little "fins" then I wouldn't worry about it.

Any oils on your finger would get burnt up pretty fast due to exhaust gases.

the sensing part itself is inside the housing - so you can't really touch it.
